Port Waste Reception Facilities Operation

 

Within the scope of the "Regulation on Receiving Waste from Ships and Control of Waste" to the Waste Reception Facility located within the port area; Petroleum and petroleum-derived wastes (bilge water, sludge, waste oil, slop) within the scope of MARPOL 73/78 ANNEX 1, wastewater within the scope of MARPOL 73/78 ANNEX IV and garbage wastes within the scope of MARPOL 73/78 ANNEX V are collected.

Waste is collected from ships docking at the port with land tankers and transferred to storage tanks at the waste reception facility. After the necessary separation and purification procedures are carried out, the waste oils coming out of the waste reception facility are transported to licensed disposal facilities to be used as additional fuel in order to contribute to the country's economy, through our licensed waste oil transportation company.

The wastewater generated in the facility is discharged in accordance with the discharge standards of mixed industrial wastewater into the receiving environment in accordance with the water pollution control regulation.

All wastes are stored, recycled and disposed of within the scope of regulations, taking into account the environment and human health.
